fuck, what happened with the blackbirds? they used to be calm and relaxed near-city-birds. almost introvert. little shy and they were damn right, right? cats and cars chasing them and all. anyway, i just got attacked by one. it was a rookie, busy getting his moves fine tuned. so he flies, probably not expecting humans on his route and suddenly (sharp turn badly done) he bumps right into me. and instead of being scared and race away he does it again. are blackbirds becoming the sparrows of the 00′s? In my grandfathers book about birds, it’s descibed as a shy forrect bird, so it seems to be on a steady developement to fill in the gap that the housemartins leave. (those have no space to build nests.) Yesterday, I noticed that the blackbirds in Amsterdam are able to do somthing that I have never seen them do before: Stay in the same place while flying.
