love the last.fm deal. ok, it is (also) all about tagging and other grouping & labelling, but still. what they do? they make you install a plugin to the media player of your own choice and then the party starts. for every file of audio that you listen to, they make an entry into your personal hit list. and thus you create your own high fidelity history. weekly charts tell you ruthless what your life looks like. and how (not) unique you are. click on a list entry and you get your songs stats, similar artists and you can hook up to other people withe the same err taste so to say. very opt-in privacy infringing but captivating concept.
