this candle can be yours for the friendly price of one euro at the turmstraße euro land , tiergarten berlin. euro land used to be pfennig land and is the equivalent of the dollar tree and other fixed-price-per-unit-stores. cheap products (of which a lot we don’t even need, right?), made in china et al. i guess translating slogans is one of the first nice-to-haves to skip for cost-cutting. in this case though, i think it does a lot of damage for the product…

as a nice gesture, i’ll suggest a translation: Nationaler Stolz. for free euro land. as a side note: do proud nation loving people burn their national colours? (kp)

now i know there are a lot of (too much?) child development theories available. some common, some out of fashion-ish, some still in research lab.
is this berlin (germany, europe) kindergarten trying something truly off the beaten path? sent your kids to diggerland, trash edition? trashcan kids gestalt institute? or is it just a temporary thing, this collection of wheelie bins next to the discovery land sign? (kp)

i love knock off brand products. you know, bargain priced goodies (that you most of the time don’t need at all, but that is beside the point) with names that ring a bell.
take this microwave for example. comes to your kitchen for less than a dinner at a german juke-joint. and it does “ping“. there’s only one really odd thing going here. the name.
who the hell brainstormed alaska for a hot-air/microwave oven combination? the mismatch would even be noticed by a chinese six-year old. maybe it’s the former brand manager of cold heat having trouble adjusting to his new cubicle? who knows…? (kp)
